Welcome to the 1971 e-Citadel! As far as we know, this is the one and only issue of the Citadel that was produced as a paperback, affectionately described as a "comic book." Some Citadel lore just cries out to be told, so with permission I've reproduced Derrill Browning's testimonial for all to enjoy. Jill (Park Doyle) says she even remembers Sherry taking some of the pictures. "I lost my book and was pleased to hear [Anita] had a copy she was scanning. She sent me the page I was on last night and I just started laughing when I read my entry and saw my picture. I am so happy that you arrived and got the yearbook going so it could provide me with a good laugh and smile 34 years later. Pretty amazing when you think about it." I know I particularly enjoyed working on getting this yearbook up. But it could not have happened without the book(let) provided by Julie Alpert (Wood) '73, Derrill Browning '69, who gave us the story of its creation, and the excellent scanning provided by Anita Donohoe '66. Julie and Anita met for the first time on April 1 for their own "micro-mini" so Julie could loan her 1971 yearbook to Anita to scan for e-Citadel. They met at the Oceanside Cafe in Santa Barbara, California, and enjoyed steamed mussels on the beach. We know all seafood lovers appreciate their sacrifice for the advancement of the yearbook project. ;) Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm and work - all alumni will enjoy this one. If you get a kick out of seeing this book, please be sure to mention it in your Guestbook entry - these great volunteers would really appreciate hearing from you! Top Ten Songs of 1971 1.
