Welcome, Class of '53!

Our very first Ankara High School yearbook! Only 47 pages including the Epilogue, the Ayyildiz answers more questions we have had about the history of our school. It highlights a History of Ankara, discusses the History of the School, and recalls the events of the year with a Class History! You'll notice even the Class Trip is described and accompanied by pictures.

The Class Prophecy and Last Will and Testament were really interesting - it's too bad this practice was discontinued in later years. The School Song is included, as well as another great idea, the Stateside Directory of where you could reach your friends after they departed for the final time.

Through the generosity of our friends we are at last "laying the foundation" of all the yearbooks in the e-Citadel archive. Our gratitude goes out to Janet Day (Rouvales) of the Class of 1955 for loaning her books to Anita Donohoe '66 for scanning. And thanks to Anita, we have both '53 and '54 arriving together as a set! Our appreciation for all your hard work, both on these two classics and in all other areas of the e-Citadel project.
